It is a simple cure for everyone to get relieved of boredom and for students to get nothing done. Many people around the world have become addicted to knowing the finale of a movie or a TV show.

These are nine easy steps to know if you have become addicted to Netflix:

  1. You keep telling yourself “just one more episode” until you realize it’s midnight already.
  2. You can’t remember how many people you’ve given your password to, or who you got your password from
  3. The biggest disappointment and frustration is trying to find a movie you haven’t seen.
  4. You judge people who don’t watch the same TV show as you.
  5. You refuse to talk to anyone who might ruin the finale for you.
  6. Once you have finished a series, you do not know what to do with yourself.
  7. You promise to someone you won’t jump ahead (however you always do)
  8. You can’t remember the last time you have seen cable TV.
  9. You cancel plans so you can stay at home and finish a series.

Everyone knows that Netflix sometimes is not the best idea and know they have to resist the temptation no matter how hard it is. Victor Manuel Garcia a proud junior agrees that it is a great way to entertain himself and admits that he has had those nine struggles. He mentions, “It has tons and tons of movies and TV series, that sometimes it’s overwhelming, and you find yourself in the urge of finishing a program, especially with TV series. And when you’re done you simply don’t know what to do in your spare time.” Netflix has access to many movies and TV shows. In U.S Netflix offers 6,494 movies and 1,609 TV shows.

We all know that high school is hard, since students are juggling their social life, academic life, and catching up on sleep. The problems start increasing when you are two years away from college and also have to juggle SATs, internships, finances, and many more. Now imagine the students that also started juggling Netflix, their problems only increase since there are not enough hours in a day.

Students and some adults all over the world are tearing their hair out since the cliff hangers are so suspenseful. People start focusing on Netflix as their main priority. A Mater Dei junior attendee, Ricardo Chavez admitted , “I like it too much and sometimes can’t get enough of it, it may get in the way of my homework and my study time.” He claims that he tells himself “Just one more episode, 45 minutes won’t affect me.” However he is wrong as many people addicted to Netflix say that same phrase until they realize they are almost finished with the season.

“My favorite TV series of all times has to be, Grey’s Anatomy!” claims a sophomore, Nicole Manilla with obvious addiction and excitement in her voice. She claims that thanks to this show she has considered becoming a real surgeon. Thanks to this online movie streaming Nicole’s future has been changed.

Another sophomore who has been absorbed by Netflix is Ana Paulina Carrillo. She has freely admitted that “I can quickly loose time while starting a new TV series, Netflix is always in my daily schedule”

After Victor Manuel, Ricky, Nicole, and Ana Paulina looked at the nine easy steps to figuring out if you are addicted to Netflix they all realized it has dominated their life. They concluded that maybe a little separation from Netflix would not be the worst idea.
