The school reaches new holy heights with Fr. Martin Latiff who has came all the way from Argentina just to help students grow in their faith.

He is part of the Miles Christi religious order which is a community of priests and brothers. Their whole mission is to guide students, particularly in high school and college, in the direction towards Christ. He has been with us in the past from 2011-2013 but has sent back by his religious superiors in Argentina to help students and staff.

He mentions, “My mission as a priest is to help people come to know and love Our Lord Jesus Christ and to bring Him to the lay faithful particularly through the sacraments.  It is my desire to help make disciples and form Christ-centered leaders for the Church and for the world.” This mission is what has brought him halfway across the world from Argentina to San Diego.

From administering confessions to celebrating masses with the student body, students have been touched by his love and care for the student body. Paige Huston claimed, “I like that he is still young and has a lot of energy because that way he can relate more to us and we will feel more comfortable with him.” Many students have commented on their appreciation for his fresh enthusiasm that he has no matter what he does.

While many have not gotten a chance to know him personally, people recognize his warmth and love radiating all throughout campus. Brianna Cannon affirmed, “Every time he walks by he has a genuine and inviting smile and really enjoy when he stops by the lunch tables to talk for a bit.”

Many students seem to enjoy the connection Fr. Martin tries to establish with the students and think that it will positively influence them in the long run. This connection has really motivated students to want to grow in their spiritual life by going to more confessions and adorations. This has been seen by the increasingly larger lines at masses and adorations to go into the confession rooms.

Ms. DiTomasso has noticed all the positive changes that he has made on campus already. He has encouraged many students to dive deeper into their faith already. DiTomasso explains that, “he is really gifted in his vocation and cares very much for students souls.” There is no doubt that Fr. Martin will be a student body favorite for a very long time.
