During spring break, some Crusaders took a trip to New York. Students explored the East coast and learned about the historical background of America.

Take it from Zeke Oakley, “In New York, one of the best things we did was that we went up on the Empire State building. We saw a lot of historical stuff along the east coast like battlegrounds and what not. We also saw the house where Little Woman was written. It was a fun trip.” said senior Zeke Oakley.

For those who didn’t get a chance to explore during Spring break Mater Dei is offering another chance to head to the other coast.

Mrs. Brown, drama club administrator, is organizing the trip along with Explore America over Thanksgiving Break.

Once in New York, Explore America has assigned a tour director who will taking the students through the city. Safety measures are very important, that is why a traveler support team, a 24-hour emergency assistance, extra overnight security for the hotel, and more services will be provided for the students and staff that assist the trip.

Since this excursion is brought to the school by the drama club, the tour will be filled with arts and music. During the trip crusaders will be attending two Broadway plays, a workshop with a Broadway Professional, having a tour in Radio City Music Hall, visiting the Statue of Liberty, Chinatown, Central Park, the Empire State building, the Metropolitan Opera House, the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, and everyone’s favorite, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, along with many more activities.

Crusaders would depart from San Diego on November 21 and arrive in New York the same day. This an all-included trip, airfare, transportation, hotel, 2 out of 3 daily meals, admissions, Broadway shows, and more. The return date is November 25 at noon.

Enrollment ends May 10., for more information, email Mrs. Brown at or visit  if requested the tour number is 2115551PT.
