Fall is quickly coming to an end. Fall Sports, the fall semester and even San Diego’s brief fall weather. Crusaders will have a chance to reflect at the upcoming Thanksgiving mass November 14th. As the grading period has just ended any students who need a little extra help with their grades are encouraged to visit tutoring.

Seniors are reminded to submit Senior Quotes by November 20th and Baby Pictures by November 26th. They also have their UC and Cal State applications due November 30th.

All Crusaders have a three day weekend to appreciate Veterans Day on Monday. As a way to show their thanks to the over 170,000 men and women who are in the U.S. military that will be deployed overseas, Crusaders can write these men and women a thank you letter.

Mrs. Jameson will be collecting these letters until Tuesday, November 13th. Drop off any handwritten letters to her in Siena 13.

Another way to show thanks is by bringing mashed potatoes, canned yams, greened beans, and more to their theology teachers for our annual food drive.

Crusaders shared what they are thankful for. The majority said they are thankful for family, friends, their relationship with God and our school!

Our Fall sports start with a shout out to seniors who played fall sports for the last time at Mater Dei.

Football had some key wins against teams like El Capitan, Chula Vista, and Bonita Vista, but ultimately did not proceed to playoffs.

Cross Country is in the Metro Conference League Finals and will be running at Rohr Park today.

Boys Water Polo defeated Clairmont to make it the to the CIF division I quarterfinals where a defeat from Point Loma ended their season.

Girls Volleyball had a historic season making it further than ever before all the way to beating Mira Mesa and San Pasqual in the CIF Quarterfinals until finally being defeated by El Camino.

For the first time, Girls Tennis made it to the CIF Semifinals. A special shout out to Laura Fernanda Eugenio De Hilario for earning first place in the Mesa League playoffs and continuing her streak as an undefeated player. Also a shout out to Sara Beckman and Nediva Gurrola who won doubles.

The Girls’ Golf Team are not only the 2018 CIF San Diego Section Champions, but also the Southern California Champions.  Brianna Navarrosa, Estibaly Garcia, Ivanna Montemayor, Jessica Moreno-Reyes  and Valerie Ruiz are all headed to Riverside November 14th for the California High School Girls State Championship.

MDTV’s Athlete of the month, Navarrosa, class of 2020, is a USC commit who is successful in school and on the golf course by balancing both and knowing her limits. She appreciates her family’s support and advice and surrounding herself with true friends.
