Crusaders hope to defeat Olympian Eagles again

As the semester concludes the countdown for Division 2 CIF has begun. Saturday, December 3rd at Southwestern college The Mater Dei Crusaders will face their Mesa League competitors, the Olympian Eagles. This is what some would perceive as a textbook win.


Junior Hernandez faces of Bonita linemen. Hernandez taking on such a larger player and succeeding is like a modern day David and Goliath.

The CIF title brings in competitive spirit like no other and the Olympian Eagles are a team not to be under-estimated. In week ten Mater Dei defeated Olympian in a 28-7 defensive battle. A 21 point lead is on the low side of the winning average for the offensive super power of the Crusaders proving they are more than worthy of competing in CIF.

“The Olympian game would have been a different story if it weren’t for their mistakes” comments senior, Ricardo Carrillo.

The coaching staff plans on setting the game pace early, “Last year we scored on the first play from scrimmage we plan on doing that again” Coach Izidoro shares.

We encourage all fans to go support and remember the crowd adds the 12th man on the field. Tickets are $5 for students with appropriate identification. For all other spectators, it is $15. Parking will also cost $3/ CIF encourages all to purchase their tickets online.
